Default Exhaust tips

The exhaust tips on the 993TT I took delivery of today are in dire need of some work - either a good polishing or a new set of tips. Are there any companies that make a good set of tips for the car?

Dr. G,

I replaced mine with some from Fabspeed. They look good, sound great (you can check it out on their webb site) and are of good quality.

Many of us have removed the mufflers and tips, and installed a muffler bypass system. I have the Fabspeed bypasses, and they come complete with nice looking tips. You get: a pretty nice sound, less weight, and better cooling flow to your turbos. The cost of this conversion is actually less than most tips alone.

Dr. G,

Yes, I ought to have noted that my Fabspeed tips bypass the standard muffler.

Steve,

Is there much involved in the RS short shifter & mounts conversion you've done to your TT? And, did you end up with the RS gear lever?

CV,

The RS short shifter kit reduces the throws by around 20%, and required that the underside tunnel cover be hammered a bit to get the required clearance. Take a look at the carnewal stite... there is a rumor that a new kit doesn';t require the hammering. I dunno about that. The "shift ****" is stock and attaches to the new lever.

The RS mounts are no big deal to install, although I confess that I had Viperbob install mine for me. There are good instructions available on the web at that DIY site. I can't hear any extra noise or feel any vibrations... but then, I'm an old guy.

Thanks Steve. I'll investigate.

Is the shift nobb "stock" TT or RS?
