It can be done with gearbox and motor lowered but some bolts will be by feel. A good shop is going to charge 5-7 hrs but actual time is less. I was on site for my slave cylinder disassembly and it took the shop 1.5-2 hrs to remove it.

Is this what a clutch slave looks like? Porsche is sending me pictures of something that looks completely different.

For a Turbo yes that is it. It a completely different unit from the naturally aspirated cars, since its assisted by the fluid from the p/s pump (well technically it's a different pump ..). Its hyper expensive. You can do a search in this forum for a lot more information and details. There are people who converted to the normal unit or even use a third part improved unit (MPL), again you can dig up information on that via search.

No idea of the labour costs since I always DIY and never bring my car to a mechanic.

Cheers,

Mike

I would also replace the accumulator at the same time.

Yup. Only to have it fail in 700 miles. Got it fixed and then found clutch slipping in boost from leaking power steering fluid into the clutch assembly from the failed slave cylinder.

Have yet to get my car back from the last debacle. Will be tearing into the car three times..

Yeah. What sucks is that the failed slave cylinder is the new replaced unit. There is a bad batch of them floating around the supply chain today.
