Agree on the age and issues, but I just accept it and consider it part of ownership experience and don’t worry about it. Something fails, don’t be surprised/fussed and fix it. keeping old cars going I’m sure is much ‘greener’ then buying something brand new that has to built from nothing. And is fun too. Just drove the 308 to the gym and back this morning, I’m still grinning.

I agree with you. But I wanted to take car for a 250 mile ride, each way, and I fear can’t do that anymore

Make sure you get the correct clutch hose for the turbo. It has a braided wire outer whereas the non-turbo does not. Made the indy who installed the wrong one replace it but I still have the non-braided part. Also, important to not hold the clutch down longer than necessary i.e., at stop lights etc.

Ross,

I blew another slave cylinder in 300 miles earlier this summer. 2 new slave cylinders in under 5-600 miles. I am converting to MPL. There is something wrong and shop followed factory bleeding procedure both times. Tired of dropping the motor and cleaning this up with a 2.5-$3K bill every few hundred miles.

Interesting…. Mines been fine (knock wood). In my case was just a hydraulic line that failed due to age….

I am a bit concerned about more lines failing… and those gas lines…. I think we will replace them in the winter….

Also these parts are getting sparse.

Which shop are you going to BTW? Feel free to PM me.

My braided hose is fine. It is the slave cylinder that keeps blowing up like too much pressure is getting fed. Perhaps it is the valve block failing that regulates between power steering and clutch. That part is another grand and I am not looking to “parts cannon” the car anymore.

Several posts in this thread have said they ditched the clutch power slave cylinder for an MPL slave cylinder. Can one of you gentlemen do a write up on the process, i.e. what parts needed, and how you did it? That would be helpful to users of the Turbo list.
