Default My TT passes "test only" SMOG...PITA!

Hey guys:

I know a few of us are going through the "readiness" code thing. Well, with some help from a gent named Bob Grigsby, I was able to go from 0 codes set to all six. Bob not only has the PST2 tester, he really knows how to use it!

I have to believe given the timing and load sequence needed to set these readiness codes that the process is intended to be performed on a dyno. Given the AWD of the TT, that's not as easy as finding any old chassis shop. Anyway, by boot strap and stopwatch these darn flags got set. After that, the car sailed through the smog test. Woo-hoo !

Let the mods begin !

Regards

Yes it is. Bob was very straight up about the setup and made a lot of sense out of craziness.

The car passed but I found out that the car had been dynoed. Be VERY careful about who you take your car to for smogging. It appears the shops only rely on the computer to tell them what cars to and not to dyno. Guess what? The Turbo does not show up.

More later.

yes, recent CA smog requiring dyno and resetting "readiness code" whatever makes things rather complicated. i had all my cars smogged at stead porsche in walnut creet. service advisor eric schafer really has it down cold. i bring the car in and tomorrow it's all set.

no affiliations, just trying to reduce the unnecessary frustration for other nor cal p car addicts.
