protomotive upgrades??
What do you guys think of protomotive tuners in florida?
Anyone know anything about their stage2 conversion? (520-550hp)
frankly, the picture of that intercooler looks scary.
do we think of them in the same league as Andial, ruf, etc for overall driveablility and improvement.

Hi Rob,
I own a 98 C4S with the Protomotive stage 2 engine. I bought the car this way. The protomotive people have been cooperative when called with questions. The conversion was done at about 12K miles and it now has a little over 15. I have had no problems at all and the car screams. Personally, IMHO, the intercooler is beautiful. My conversion was done at their New Jersy affiliate. I have spoken with the owner there and he seems very nice and helpful.
You can also get a hold of Todd Knighton the guru behind Protomotive and ask him questons.
His website is www.netquest.net/~knighton/ if you are unaware. they do not respond well to email so phone calls work better.
I will send you a PM with my number if you would like to discuss. Also, Bruce Anderson mentions Protomotive in his books with no negative light. I cannot compare to Ruf since I have not owned a Ruf car, but I have had 10 other Porsches and two other turbos.

I have had several run ins with this place and every time it has been a major hassel I have had parts missing from my car and then running into a guy in the area at Porsche meet and guy telling me that the guy who runs the place sold it to him and I have heard this from other guys in the club. I think that the product is good but the bussiness is not run with good intensions just to make money. Anyone who goes there please be careful
