Default G50/52 with 6 speed? G50/32?

I have a new gearbox (i.e. old but never used) for a race car. The casing is marked G50/52 (which I believe is the 5 Speed box from the 965 Turbo) but it is a 6 speed box (Rear section has reverse and 5/6 cluster).

Has anyone heard of a G50/52 6 speed?

I thought the 993 TT had a G64/51 and the 993 GT2 had a G50/32?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks, AGSpeed

The 993 RS had a G50/32 6 spd gearbox, could the 32 look like a 52 on your unit?

Can't explain the 6-speed part, but the G50/52 was indeed used in the 964 Turbo and Turbo 3.6 cars. The G64/51 was the gearbox used in the 993 Turbo worldwide anf the G50/32 was used in the 993 RS Clubsport. Not sure if it was also used in the 993 GT2.

My gear chart shows a G50/31 for 1996-on RS models and a G50/32 for the RS Clubsport. The GT2 had the G50/54 box.

I just looked this all up for someone on the PCA site...

G50.20 standard version for US, Canada, and a few others
G50.21 standard version for the rest of the world (ROW)
G50.31 German Carrera RS 3.8 M002 (road version)
G50.32 German Carrera RS 3.8 M003 (Clubsport & Cup)
G50.33 Swiss version of G50.32

G64.20 C4 AWD version for US, Canada, and a few others
G64.21 C4 AWD version for the rest of the world (ROW)
G64.51 993 twin turbo AWD version for the world
G64.42 993 twin turbo AWD version for Taiwan only
G64.52 synonymous with G64.42

That info was for the 993 that is...

As far as I can tell you're right, G50.52 was for all 965 turbo (3.3 and 3.6) 1991-1994.

The case sections and guts can be recombined, so if it is original, I like the .32 vs .52 explanation best.
