Lower Valve cover - to kick the car off the lift or not? $%*!
Bumper off. Not too bad.
Turbo off. Kind of a pain.
Diver side valve cover. Lots of cursing.
First it was the bolt right behind the header. Now I can't for the life of me see how to get the heat shield off without removing the header. There is an indentation for the turbo flange and no matter which angle I try, I can't get it around the flange. Maybe I am just too tired after spending quite a few hours tearing down work I just finished a few months back.
Why couldn't the design have called for the flange to be offset or pushed out 1/4"!
Ideas?
Thx.

I've done the job twice. The only way I could get it off was to loosen the valve cover first. Once the valve cover is free you can wiggle the heat shield off.
