Default winter awd issues and tires

Hi guys.,

Didn't quite make it back home to NY in time from Maine and got hit by the big snow storm. Eventually made it back home, but in the process, I noticed that the car handled poorly - like a rear 2wd. I previously had a c4s and it handled well in the snow, but I think the awd system in my 97TT is not working properly. Are there any quick checks?

On a related issue...any recommendations on winter tires - I'd like to use the OE wheels for the winter set and get new wheels (maybe wider) for the other seasons.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Mario

Are you satisfied with the contis and the tt in winter at all?

I am thinking of fixing my old 944s for winter use but dont like to spend 1k for a car that probably does not handle as good as the tt.

Its more an issue of somebody crashing into my tt

The contis are great and the tt is a blast to drive on snow.
