Very nice car Kyle! Good luck. Did you buy that from the guy who "bought the farm"? As in lots of land and cows as opposed to dying that is.

Kyle - congradulations and welcome.

Look at the 4th Admin posting:

"Admin: 993 FAQ - New Visitors: Please Read This FAQ First ( 1 2 3 )"

All the reading is good, but scroll down and you will see the ISV thread on how to adjust for the RS Clutch.

Default More info for you

On top of the varioram, on a 96. On a 95 I confess total ignorance. But look at the DIY on www.p-car.com, it shows the damn thing in a recognizeable manner ! Even Bozo did it, with 2 left hands !! ;-) It's an easy job - annoying on a 96 due to lack of room but you should have it good!

Hey, while your hands are dirty (not literally, feel free to wash them in between jobs) check your relays for AC and oil cooler fan. Those are such a common failure on 993s that it'd be a good idea to check operation before you post soon about bad cooling or bad AC ;-) It's a baseline anyway !

Remove the fuse box cover, pop the cover for the 2 relays for AC and oil cooler (see P-car .com for DIY on that and relay numbers, I just know them by heart now). With your finger, or a too pick, push on the relays trigger bars, top and bottom and you should hear the fan on each side start at low and hi speed depending on which bar you pushed. I betcha a melted popsicle that at least one of your relays is toast, or that the ballast resistor is toast ;-)

Generally you get low speed only ;-)

See the DIY for more details, it's also easy to figure out and LOTs of older 993s have those things 1/2 failed - i.e. you get 1/2 the AC or 1/2 the cooling ! Just passing it forward ;-)
Greg.

Kyle

Thats what i meant acutally...I had seen the ad for the car and read the text were the PO had bought a farm and the 993 wasn't making the move. I guess he traded his 993 for a John Deere.....of course the say "nothing runs like a deere". Anyway have a blast the car is beutiful.
