Got RoW M030 for the 996. Now it squeaks going over speed bumps and driveways, specially at a diagonal. Has anyone had this problem with the 993? There is a TSB on this. Who's got it?

I was talking to a friend of mine today, he was telling me he had the same problem after the installation of his RoW M030 and it has not gone away. He is going to take it back to the shop that did the install and have them check it.

Kevin, I suppose you're asking me. The squeaks come from the front suspension. I can't tell if the strut brace is doing it, or if it is the sway bar mounts. I tried spraying some ZEP on the rubber bushings and attachments of the sway bar. Someone told me to try Vaseline. After I sprayed it, I took it out again and I thought the squeak was a little muffled, but that may be just me trying to convince myself that it worked. Off to the wrench again........

Hi Arthur:

Its most likely that the squeaking you are hearing are coming from the rubber swaybar bushings. This is quite common,.......

I use a teflon-based grease and do not have any further troubles. The Zep spray (teflon-lube) is good stuff but you cannot get it worked into where it needs to be and this "fix" is quite temporary.

Performance Products carries this stuff but the bushings must be thoroughly coated on the inside to cure the problem.

Other squeaks from 993's can be windshield related and may require redoing that.

A front strut brace also helps, in more ways than one,.........

Good advice from all, but Arthur has infiltrated our community with his mass produced 996.

Anyway Arthur buddy, Steve is probably right (anyone surprised) and if you remove the bushings and lube them up with the stuff he is talking about, you should be good to go.
