In my case, I always wanted a Testarossa until I tried to fit in one. No-go.

You guys find any clean 6GT2s or 3TTs for $40-60K, I will buy 2 of each.

+1 ... Following suit as brother TMc993 and others. ... As we speak casting out for a MY14/'15/'16 n/a 6sp Cayman S.
A neu coupe will replace a daily driver VW GTI of ten years. .. In fact Terry's silver S coupe would foot the bill precisely.

The Porsche AG folks are no dummies. Governing specific output of the mid-engine chassis Boxster/Cayman twins didn't take Madam X and her crystal ball insight . . . The Porsche mid-engine chassis cars are that good. My $.02 Far more "driver involvement" character than the H2O 911 cars ... The 911 991.1&2 is well on its way to becoming automotive jewelry

Ha! Yeah I wasn't in the 60K price range...I am of the mindset... buy the best P-Car you can afford in what you want. I have my eye on a GT2 996 Locally for $119K Blk/Blk. I won't part with my 993. I will never be able to replace it.

For 40-60k I'd get a 993 C4 to go with my C2. If I couldn't go with a 993, I'd go with a 996TT.

I love the 993 but it might be time for a change. I have owned mine since 08.
I like white on the Cayman.

If I had to replace, I'd probably go earlier with a normally aspirated 964 coupe or late 80's G50 coupe.

Are any of you even reading the original post? Where can you buy a Singer for $40-60k?

A very rare sewing machine perhaps? Looks like Inspector Clouseau didn't get the clue

For that price, I'd be on the hunt for a low mile Audi RS4, or as someone else said, a late model Aston Martin Vantage 4.7 V8.

I would pick up something more track focused if I had to part w my 993, maybe a DE oriented 964 or a back dated 964 w a half cage and harnesses, then get a water pumper 911 as a GT car for road trips.

Ditto that, kind of. As an aside; My next door neighbor sold his 348 a few months back due to ludicrous service costs and gummy interior parts running into the thousands for freaking switches / bezels. Observing his Ferrari ownership experience killed any conceptions that I had regarding owning one.

My 993 ticks all of the boxes for me; old yet new, somewhat fast but not stupid, fairly easy for DIY, cool but not douchey, etc.
