Luftgekuhlt 4 - 2017

Very cool!
Needs 694 more.
Hard not to, even in a sea of Stuttgart!
Awaiting pictures..
For a second I thought you tossed the Speedlines and rewound a decade..
Supposedly some other similarly-colored RS's joined the fun as well..

from TheGentlemanRacer.com's "Luftgekühlt 4" article...
starting with world's 1st air-cooled showcase all in same color

Air-cooled celebration ^^ that was water-cooled
No sir ^^ Speedy's Speedlines are complete with magnesium Motorsports centers & Ralph Boothe crests
...as photographed by Brett Sloan for flatSixes.com's "100+ Photos from Luftgekühlt 4" feature. Their 2 pics with noticeable 993s:
Not many 993s in that gallery, so enjoy the '89 that completed Luft's Speedster spotlight:
Owner's son (driving ^^) wanted to bring the Speedster. Dad wanted to bring the Mexico Blue '74 (driving behind him).
Luft organizers were awesome, giving me passes to get his dad's into the showcase area, plus this '84 Ruf RSR that drove from Chicago. Now that's a road trip: 750 whp
Perspective pics, just glimpses of Luft4's enormity:

Great event! Some seriously talented photographers in this group. My iphone shots are pathetic. Thanks for sharing the awesome photos. It was cool to see some of the "famous" among us, not to mention the amazing array of cars.

Race Car
This picture is for my kids, who -- being kids -- continue to prefer a morning of Netflix cartoons on an iPad to going with Dad to a car show. That's fine, but my plan is to put this overhead shot up somewhere in the house -- so that one day they might start to get the idea that it could be fun, maybe, to, well... stand around in a parking lot with old guys, talking about cars. Granted, that's a big 'maybe.' But we'll see how it goes.
(photo taken by Mehmet Cercioglu, lightly photoshopped by me to try and trick my kids into coming for more rides in the race car)

The real celebrities were the cars, IMHO

Three Wheelin'
from that aerial pic there looks to be a janis-joplin-style 911 cab in the 2nd row from the top.

It was such a blast. My pictures are all just iPhone, so they don't compare to the high-resolution ones posted here. It was a bucket list journey for me, I towed my enclosed trailer with my 993 inside across half of the country for this event. I have a good friend that lives in Newport Beach and we went to the show together. I enjoyed driving my 993 up-and-down the Pacific coast. California is definitely car country, you guys are lucky. It was great to see fellow rennlisters there. Only problem is that now I have a very strong urge to buy a 356 A.

A few more. Including my friends 1966 3-gauge Irish Green 912, which is for sale. It was chosen to be curated inside Luft 4. Probably top 5% of country for that car. This is not an advertisement just an observation
993s were like minivans at this event. Way too plain and mainstream haha.
