Nice one John. I agree, you definiteley deserve it! Sounds like you got the best colour too! Best of luck with it, just make sure you do a search before asking the board any questions, they have been known to kill for less!

Cheers

Hey guys.....

Arrrghhhhh........

My '87 left home today. After almost 9 years, it's away from home - and with it's new owner.....

My 993??? You don't wanna know.... It isn't home. My garage is empty (well, 'cept for Jen's 68 911L and my track car... ).....

Anyone have a set of rotors for a '95 993 C4 for sale? Cheap. I mean REALLY cheap.... ??? I'll take pics and even do a DYI..??!!!

Thanks all - I can't WAIT for the 993 to come home, too.......

Hey Kim,

THANK YOU!! Now - you are making me feel badly about not selling you my '87..! Seriously - I need a good set of rotors to pass inspection, then - this winter, the brake calipers/rotors will probably be upgraded...

What was that about a "slippery slope"? Hmmm.. I already have a kind hearted soul asking if I want their transmission at a terrific price for a gear cluster change, I've had someone else offer me some engine performance parts for while I have the engine out - I can "upgrade that"... Heh...!!

No wonder 993 owners slide down that slippery slope - you folks push them over the edge

Seriously - my thanks Kim!!! A slightly used set of rotors would be fantastic! However - I would like to pay for more then just shipping, so if you want to PM me your address, I'll get something off in the mail to you today - with my thanks!!!

Gosh, John, I thought it was just another 'new to me' post till I saw you were the author. My congrats, too!

Here's a thought for the Rennlist community. Since JD has been so great to us for all these years, let's try to return the favor. Do any of us have parts from former mods or replaced OEM parts he could use? If I owned a service facility I'd gladly offer my services. But since I don't, let's think of some way we can repay his efforts and get him down that slippery slope.

Thoughts, anyone?
(PM's to John may be best, as hopefully he'll have plenty of offers.)

Wow folks....

Thanks.... I'm a little speechless, which is a very unfamiliar feeling... I want to thank Kim and many of you for your offers! Now - the good news....

I'll be off line this evening, because it's COMING HOME, and I should be picking it up late this afternoon!!!

However - for any of you in Northern MA - Southern NH... If you see a white 993 C4 on the side of the road, please stop..! My rotors will have probably frozen up again .. Heh!!!

My Best to all - and thanks!!!

Hi John
Congrats! I'd love to hear why the previous owner let it sit for 6 mos with a bad clutch and brakes after paying $70k for it new. Did he tell you? Have fun with your new 993!

First of all - Thank you!!!! However - wait until you see some of the questions I ask!! LOL!!! You'll be amazed!!! Remember - until now - my "newest" Porsche has been my '87..! Before that - ummm - '65, '68, '73, '74, '75, '78 (all 911s), with a diversion into 2 951s, a 931 - and my track car ('75 914-6 3.0 which I built from the ground up..). So - I have no idea what all the "new fangled" stuff is on these 993s

HOWEVER - trust me - this Rennlist Forum and Robin's site helped me make the "plunge"..

Now - about any mods I have planned - yep, "it's sort'a like that".. ..... I was thinking, while installing the clutch - and while "I'm in there" - what about... Nawwwwww - I'll post that later

Seriously - my thanks to all - I'll post pics in the next few days.....
Where's your 928?.
