Question Is it possible to replace partial power seats......

......with full power seats in a '97 or '98 993 C2S, and if so, is it cost prohibitive?

I'm looking at a '97 right now with manual forward and back.....

Thanks!

I agree......don't really need them, and I can certainly live without them, but I'm a creature of convenience, and I just want to know if it is possible and how much it would cost......

Listen, it's not often you come across a silver/black '97 993C2S with only 12k miles on it for well under $50k! Yeah, I can live with it....(grin).

Hey DCP...

Congrats on your find..
And a Silver 993 C2S with 12k should sell for a bit more than the seller is asking.
Maybe you worked a great deal and congrats but these are things I would look for if I came across such a bargain.
First, I will assume it's a private seller.
Second, I will assume that it does not have the following options:
18" turbo twistie wheels
Aero Kit
power seats, (as stated)
hi fi
litronic headlights
Is is tip or manual?
limited slip?
sunroof?
motorsound package?
has it been in any accidents or flood damage?
any aluminum upgrades?
CD player?
leather seats?
rear window wiper?

I have been doing a ton of research on these cars for a while now and that price seems awfully low for such a low mileage vehicle.
Maybe you found a desperate seller in which case congrats.... But, be sure to get a PPI and find out how the car is outfitted.

If there's any info I can provide that helps, let me know. I just finished my C2S search and have a healthy understanding of the market.
If the car is on the level, even without those options it still sounds like a great deal..
hope this helps..

Great tips! It does, in fact, have the 18-inch Turbo wheels, CD changer, a 6-speed, partial leather, partial power seats, and a sunroof. Everything stock, no other options.

It's FLAWLESS on the outside, some normal seat and carpeting wear on the inside. Story behind it: Last summer I was looking for a clean '96 993......couldn't find one that made me happy, but during the search I saw this gorgeous '97 or '98 993C2S parked outside a gym. I left my card in the windshield asking the person to call if he ever wanted to get rid of it......never heard back from him, so I picked up the remainder of a lease on a '99 M3 convertible....... the lease is up next month, and what do you know, the guy calls me back yesterday. Just picked up a new Mercedes, and is giving me first crack at the Porsche.....when I left the note I had NO idea it had so few miles on it......

I have a GREAT place I take my Porsches to for PPIs, so I'm not to concerned......and actually, KBB has this car at $41k trade-in value and $52k retail.......I've notice LOTS of inflated actual prices out there......the dealer probably wants to give this guy $40k for his car, so anything over $45k is good the guy and GREAT for me!

Still wondering about those seats, though....

Thanks again!

I just drove the car, and it drives and looks like new! NO creaks, rattles, door dings or scratches. 12,232 miles. Just did the service. Also found out it has the motorsound package, and is Polar Silver rather than Arctic.

But so much for my figuring at $45k ot $46k.......guys says (and I believe him) that the dealer offered $47k and some change.........I'm going to offer him $48.5.....would that still be a good deal for me?? Silver B, would it be rude to ask what you paid for yours?

Thanks!

Look at your car in the sun and if your silver looks faintly bluish, then you have a Polar Silver. If the silver looks more "silvery", well then you have an Artic Silver. Both are beautiful, IMHO. I have polar silver and love it.

B-Line

That looks like Arctic Silver, which was the standard color Silver in '97 (though Polar was available). Most (all?)'95s and '96s are Polar Silver which has a blue tint.

so the polar silver (which we don't think mine is,) is the one that you actually had to pay extra for??
I am guessing my car is not the upgraded silver??

Not that I really care about what the original owner paid, I'm just curious..
Thanks..

This is my interior btw...
The seats look a little worn on the side but hey...it is a 6 yr old car..
Just in case I didn't mention it, I bought the car sight unseen.
I know that sounds like a bad idea and I hope everything is Kosher but worse case scenario, I have two days to send it back if I'm not happy.
And even though I had a PPI done on it and it is certified, I am going to have Foreign Affaris Motorsports go through it with a fine tooth comb..
There the best Pcar specialists hands down in the state.
