I am guessing my car is not the upgraded silver??

Not that I really care about what the original owner paid, I'm just curious..
Thanks..</STRONG>
In '95 & '96 Polar was the no extra cost Silver (not sure if Artic was available). In '97+ Arctic was no extra cost and Polar could be purchased for extra $$.

Of course Polar Silver is faster . (Oops, I thought this was the S4 board.)

I just changed my seats...from full power, to partial power sport seats.

There is only one power adapter for the seats (it has 13 prongs or so). I am 99% sure it will power any seat installed...the motors and the additional power switches reside on the seat.

Thanks for the info, Chris! Now I just have to find out how much, and where......

By the way, why did you go from full power to partial power?

I "upgraded" to manual fore/aft and recline factory sport racing seats. The base seats are not nearly supportive enough for my driving style and track events...plus these are relatively rare and very aggressive looking.

I do know of a pair of mint condition full power seats in black for sale--you don't say what color the interior of your prospective new baby is. (Otherwise, watch eBay and the Rennlist classifieds)

Email me for more info. Seller is a friend and a well-known Rennlister.

Kim:

There was/is a heating option for the sport seats, but no full power option (looking at my parts catalogue). These seats are power vertical adjustment, but are about 8 lbs lighter due to the hardbacks (PVC) and manual adjustment.

Full power seats, IMHO, REALLY need a memory function!

Chris:

How difficult would it be to convert from power seats to the sports seats?

Hi Michael:

It is very straightforward to change your seats, provided your power ones aren't stuck in the rearward position--search on "going Western in your Porsche" if you missed that funny thread.

There are 6 bolts on each seat, and 1 power relay to dis/re-connect (the driver's side has another for the seat belt light that must be swapped over to your new seats). It helps to raise the seats fully to access the Allen head (6mm?) bolts. The sport seats are lighter and easier to manipulate once inside the car.

Email me with additional questions. Also, I have a set of black sport seats for sale if you are interested.
