Roughly 135 -140 on a track, and it was so incredibly dramaless! Were this an open highway, one could easily change radio stations or answer a call (no, not that I would). My stock 95 (with only track brakes/tires and PSS9s) was so ridiculously rock stable I could easily see how others posting here going even faster find the car stable at their higher speed.

Was the 168 an accurate speed?? I can't imagine that at an speedo indicated 171 would be a real 168. Aren't these speedo's off by way more than that?

I don't know exactly how fast the car was traveling, I usually have my GPS on the dash for speed confirmation.
I would estimate the actual speed around 163-165 (it was uphill)
The speedo on my coupe seems to be more acurate than the one on my Targa, however the Targa has the OBC that reads near perfect speeds, don't ask me why.
I have seen 180 mph read out on the Targa's speedo, I thought it was going to break for sure!

Like you said, the OBC seems spot on, even at higher speeds.

165 speedometer-indicated mph. Probably closer to 155 in real speed. In a completely stock 114K miles cab with old shocks and top down. The car felt completely and utterly stable. As speed increase, the car seemed to have "sat down" and, at least at 150, was completely stable, despite the state of shocks.
Make sure nothing is around you. Getting to those speeds braking from those speeds takes a while. Make sure your tires are properly inflated and not old.

Glad to hear the Convertible with the top down can do that. I will have the top up..its new and I have new Michelin Super Sports and Euro spec springs so I'm an inch lower than US spec. New suspension parts and alignment but other than that its all stock.

No GPS in 993s. The GPS is in the iPhone, using "Harry's" lap timer. Very accurate. My brother in law uses a dedicated GPS sensor, and it's only marginally better than the iPhone.
