Let’s REVIVE this thread!

So, what is the current consensus on occasional DD and 5-10 track day per year tires on WB 993??

PS2/Cup 2/Bridgestone?

My old 993 had PS2 which were dry rotted so I never got a good sense. I eventually went to Hankooks for HPDE and that was a great tire but they don’t make them for WB 18 inch wheel size.

Of these I listed above I have only had Cup 2 on my old 996 Turbo and they were VERY sticky and actually not the worst in the rain…I was a beginner at the time and my instructor was actually quite surprised at their grip. Had to take the stickers off them before I got on track!

I’m a big fan of the Cup2 on my 993 NB with PSS10s. I use the car exclusively for canyon runs; they feel great and ride surprisingly well. Got stuck in the rain at Rennsport last year and agree that they aren’t scary in the wet. Great street tire. No track time with them.

Thank you for the feedback! I have PSS10 on my WB so that would be a great comparison. Amazing tires when I had them for the 996 Turbo

Hi All,

why is nobody using the Pirellis? Are they not common in the US? Or are the other tires especially the Michelins far superior?

Regards,
Christian
