I'd not do a clutch on a 20ish year old car without dropping and doing the while you're in theres: lifters, PS belt, timing covers, etc. Then there is the crumbling cable on the SAI air pump.....nice electrical hazard.

Okay so they worked with me on parts. Basically charging 1700 for what I could buy on line for around 1400. So I can deal with that mark up.

I'd still consider a whole lot more stuff while the engine is out.

A friend supplied the timing belts for his Alfa, whoops wrong belts. Result one set of bent valves and no redress. Bite the bullet or risk getting shot.
BTW I wouldn't have trusted those mechanics they were waiters in a local Italian restaurant (not because they were Italian, but that appeared to be the only connection to Alfas)
