Mellow out guys, it's not like he put an "S' badge on a 993 that is not an S. It's like an earring, you can undo it and no one would notice.

I notice 991 owners have trouble finding the right forum. I bet there are 5-10 posts a week on the 911 board by wayward souls.

No, they are just attracted to the forum where owners know how to do things to their cars and are not just debating whether Iris Blue is bluer than Aqua Blue. (I know that's harsh and there are actually guys on the 997 forum who can and do discuss DIYs, evidenced by the OP who found the "how to replace your rear emblem" thread. Just sayin')

The reason I ask is that you can buy these OEM emblems on eBay and the ones for the 996 are a slightly finer looking script. I don't know whether the size is the same as for the 993 and wouldn't want to waste the money only to find the new emblem didn't perfectly fit the 996 emblem's "shadow."

Maybe I'm crazy but still thought I'd check.

If the paint is a different color you just need to do a paint correction. Ie buff it out.

It is still a Porsche for heavens sake. I actually like the idea.

Really? DIY on a 997? Like, um, filling the gas tank and topping off the water?? You can't even SEE the engine in that thing!!

Now, now. Maybe you mean the 991? That was the biggest bummer about the car when I first saw one - popped open the engine cover to find two fans and a plastic sheet.

I have seen threads on DIY oil changes on the 997.
