Default Mixing Bilstein shocks?

So I started replacing my worn out 993 suspension with the M030 suspension. I ordered everything from Elephant racing thinking it would be easier to install a whole kit. Well the rear shocks on the Bilstein B6 they sent me are WAY to long. of course after doing some googling that is a common problem. I called them and they are fixing it but they want to send me the B8 for the rear. Is it ok to mix and match the B6 shocks up front and the B8 in the rear? Or should I just have them send me the B8's all the way around?

If I remember correctly, the B6 ( used to be HD) and B8 (used to be sport) are valved identically. The only difference being the shorter shaft on the B8 for use with lowering springs, B6 with a more stock like suspension.

No problem to use B6XT front and B8 rear with RoW M030 springs.

thanks for the heads up guys. wasn't sure if I should exchange out the fronts or not. so if i switch to the B8 fronts I will just have less suspension stroke?

Hi 911PERVY
I recently got a 993, wondering if it's worth to change my Monroe to PSS10? It's just an itch, would the ride be a lot more stiffer? I don't track at all, just a few miles on weekend.

This is my first post, so I hope I'm doing it right.

If the Monroes are original for sure they are shot and need to be replaced. If a PO replaced within the past few years with a new set, no need to change for change's sake. PSS10's are great given the adjustability factor but are overkill if you're driving "a few miles on the weekend." Assuming your in Europe (noting the time of your post), then the car is at proper ride height; just need new shocks and a proper alignment (plus have your shop check for any other suspension related bits). If it's a USA car, you'll want to swap into ROW springs either sport (M030) and comfort (M033). Lots of shock choices out there; search is your friend here.
