Default Just Because Dyno

I decided to do an engine health check just because a while back so thought to share. 136k on the ODO with 44k on the motor. Leakdown was 4% on all cylinders and here's the Dynojet result with video. Probably differing opinions on the drivetrain loss but regardless looks about right.

Hmm, 5 hp and 5 ft lbs of torque loss in 5 years (2011 - 2016). What a tidy package.

Overall mileage on the ODO might be pointless... What is/was the mileage on the motor within those 5 yrs? Are both runs after the motor rebuild?

Both runs were after the motor rebuild by Rob Joy at GT Motorsport (2009). I can't recall the mileage in 2011 guessing + 15k from then to now. We heard some pinging in 2011 which turned out to be a tired fuel pump. New unit went in, ran it again all ok.

Default 85,XXX 261 HP

261 HP, Bone stock, no rebuild of anything. And this is with the stock cat and stock mufflers, yes, but they do have the wide oval tips! Burns no oil, and leak down in all cylinders with the exception of one (1), was <5%. Once cylinder read at 6%.

Wow big difference. I wonder how much the big temperature difference factors if at all? You at 56 degrees me at 88. I'm been considering 200 cell cats and moving from Fister III - II. Do stock cats become restricted at all over time and 136k miles you think? Ugh the endless pursuit of completely imperceptible gains has a chokehold.

Smile 261 HP?

The dyno results may have been a fluke. I can't explain it. I am not looking for bragging rights...I run in a POC weight to HP class and the more HP, the more I am penalized...the heavier the car has got to be.

I will re-dyno the car soon and post up the results.

Here are my dyno results. Had an under engine rebuild at 20k 12 or so years ago, this was at around 63k with LPMM and drilled intake. Are these healthy numbers? Would like to get a 97 ecu and a tune to bump up the numbers.

Took the coupe to Dyno-comp yesterday for air fuel readings on the SW chip for my RS style cams.

Got ~252 to the wheels on their dyno, they said I should be about ~305 off the crank.

How is pinging (do you mean detonation?) related to a tired fuel pump? Trying to understand...

Tired fuel pump does not supply enough fuel and the motor runs lean. Lean fueling leads to detonation.

That exactly what happened. My tech was there and heard it and said immediately we need to test your fuel pump as he suggested the motor wasn't getting enough fuel at high RPM. He tested the fuel pump and sure enough it was the cause.
