R&R Fuel Injectors, Non-VRAM
I'd like to send my fuel injectors to RC for cleaning and balancing. Are any special tools required to remove and replace them? Thanks in advance...

I'm going to do the same while I've got the airbox and blower fan out during the coilover install, and am going by this info:

Thanks all...
Do I really need to disconnect the fuel lines; or, is it more a matter of loosening up one of the connections to allow the fuel to drain?
Bruce mentions lubing the o-rings before reinstalling. Would a drop of motor oil be OK for this?
RC is local for me, I'm expecting a quick turn-around.

Just wondering what is prompting you service the injectors?

The car has 93k miles on it, and they have never been cleaned. Considering the experiences of others, there is a high probability that they could benefit from cleaning and balancing.
The engine runs fine; but, subtle performance degradation that builds-up over a long period of time is often not noticeable. That is, until something is done and all of a sudden there is a significant improvement. Kinda like lifting the veil...

we all know how this goes....
- pp responds with creative theoretical hypothesis.
- pp warns of maintenance action, theorizing introduction of microscopic 'things'.
- pp recommends no action should be taken.

Have you considered having cleaner run through them in place? I seem to recall some sort of cleaning based on introducing solvent through the fuel rail on a running engine. Not sure if there is something like this for our cars.

Unnecessary. The injector cleaning companies run a spray and volume test on injectors before they are cleaned and flow matched, and provide the data to the customer. A couple of my 100K mile injectors were definitely due for cleaning, and I used techron regularly.
