The 996 wheel is a triple win as compared to the 993 version. Smaller thicker and aesthetically much nicer to look at. Also you get the added bonus of a slighter newer air bag system.
Yes, 996 tip could fit. But it is not for me. 4 spoke nicer on the eye for me.

Picture from the web, not my car!
I'd never noticed that before - RHD 911s have the ignition on the right. It obviously makes sense.

I think I may be the only person in the world who prefers the original 4 spoke to the 996 3 spoke.

OP, nice update!

No, you're not alone. Even though it reminds me of an 8th generation Buick Riviera, it looks more period correct than the 3-spoke.

I'm looking to trade some Black interior stuff for Dark Grey to get some contrast in my car if anyone is interested?

Thanks,
Dave

What a flashback on the Riviera! I also prefer the 4-spoke wheel - I think it takes to leather very well - the contours of the 4-spoke wheel allows deviated stitching to really pop.

Nope, I too prefer the 4 spoke look for a 993. I think the 3 spoke is the nicer looking wheel if you're just comparing the two wheels but the 4 spoke looks more age appropriate with the rest of the interior in the 993. I'm lucky enough to also have the leather airbag with my 4 spoke which IMO helps as well.

Oh no, not a 3 vs 4 spoke steering wheel thread! So which brand and weight oil do you guys use, and why?

BTW, I wear white socks when driving the p-car. Neutral in color, yet sports minded.

Looks great, Nine9six!

I have to admit for a while I was very much in your camp (have the supple/draped gray interior) and was thinking of giving it some contrast. In fact I even went as far as buying a set of hardback 996 seats (with Porsche crest) as well as black (leather) 993 rear bench + seat pad. Never got to install them, and they have been sitting idle at home. At this stage thinking of selling them (preferably as a set to a 993 comrade) - what do they generally fetch? Sorry for the partial thread-jack but figured I'll solicit your guys' opinion especially as some folks herein have gone this same exact route. TIA

Thanks Doc!

996 sports in nice condition seem to sell quickly at $1500'ish, & tend to languish a bit @ $2000. I dont understand this as they are every bit as nice as 993 sports that fetch $5k +

Back seats (bottoms and seat backs) @ about $500 and up for leather. I've even seen vinyl sets north of the $500 mark, but none that I would pay that price.

@AZ,
I've been in contempt before...Dang BH liberals! Eff em
