I need an engine shipped for my landcruiser shipped from WVA to MD. What's the best way to get this done, and any recommendations on shipper. Last winter with the big snow storm I blew her up.
If picking it up isn't an option , check with yellow freight /roadway and try and get it delivered to a commercial location .
They should included liftgate for business ...Bert
Pilot Freight did an excellent job in shipping a 289 HiPo engine from NC to CA. I crated it, they picked it up at my home and shipped it for what I thought was a very reasonable cost.

Hey Bert, I'll check with them and get a quote. It will be going from commercial to commercial. BTW, every time I see a turbo for sale now, I wish I had bought yours back then.

Yellow Freight is the worst carrier to use, if you want to lower chances of damage. Roadway isn't a lot better. As a manufacturer shipping 16,000+ pieces of expensive equipment per year, they are the worst. My shipping dept won't touch them. Ever. You'd be amazed at the **** they do.
Old Dominion is a much better carrier. You may pay a little more, but in the end, delivered undamaged has value.
Maybe U-Ship (revers eBay model), you can find someone to "carry". Used web site to find hauler for trailer delivery. It would need to be skid packaged prior to pick up.

My son and his friend (both in Army) drove to CA, from the SE, during this last Christmas break. Took a while longer than expected. He finally told me about their scam. I guess there's some uber type app, which you can haul stuff (for an agreed fee) while your traveling. They hauled an AMC Pacer and a golf cart WB. Then took a boat, when they drove back EB. Don't know what the app was, but trusting someone with your stuff (for a few hundred bucks) is very scary to me.
