Refinishing FM10's
Getting ready to have my FM10's refinished in anticipation of spring
They look great in their current Artic silver color with a polished lip but I've always loved gold wheels on guards red 993's.
Can anyone help me photoshop both options on my car?
Any opinions would be welcome too!
Thanks!

I have the same wheels in Black. They look great! It really gives the car an aggressive look. I think Gold is a bit to 80's for my taste. Maybe a Gun Metal Grey would be a good compromise.
I had the silver with polished lip at one point. Such a PITA to keep clean! Way to many places for brake dust to hide! Go with something that hides the brake dust and you will be happier in the long run.

hmm.. I think they would look pretty nice in silver or like Marin said a dark grey or gunmetal, but if you go gold just do the centers and polish the lips. Looking forward to the transformation.

Love gunmetal wheels but have never liked gunmetal on guards red. I agree about the gold..thanks for pulling me back to reality.
Black is a good thought. How did you finish them? Powder coat or paint?

I sold my silver ones and bought the black ones. I had been keeping my eyes open for a black set and it all just worked out.
They are anodized black so it's not that deep rich black like powder coating. They look a bit purple. Great for Arena Red but not so sure with Guards Red. I have seen stock GT2 wheels painted on GR and they looked GREAT!

I've seen painted grey with polished outers. It looked great! The color was slightly darker grey but not quite gun metal.
I would steer clear of powder coating. The material buildup on the mating surface would concern me. Maybe you could scrape that part with a razor? Also not sure how heat from the process would effect the forging. Given that option I would do hyper black. It's the an impressive wheel color. Not quite black but dark grey. When viewed at different angles the shadows change from dark silver to black. Google it.

I'm not a huge fan of gold or black centers, but I think they can look good on a red car.
I would call Fikse to be sure they can be powdercoated. You also want to determine if your centers are the Technipolish finish (clear-coated) or race satin (anodized). I think you have the former. (When Fikse was bought by Kodiak, they must have changed anodizing vendors because their race satin finish changed from the original sparkly but less shiny look to a more matte finish, so there is some variation based on when the wheels were made.) As others have surmised, I'm guessing that powdercoating is not a good idea.
IIRC, Fikse had an issue with their anodization process for the black wheels. Under high heat conditions, they would eventually turn purple. Saw a few of them at the track. It was my understanding that Fikse warrantied the issue, but it's been so long that I might be wrong about that.

Doing a few different searches using Google is probably going to be easier than finding someone to PhotoShop your requests. Or maybe there is a tire/wheel website that can superimpose what you want?
Either way, if you arent sure what you want and have some spare time, you can always plasti-dip the centers a couple times and see what works for you.

The original process Fikse used sure did. I have seen recent black versions from Kodiak that look dark and rich. If I were the OP I would not hesitate to send em back to them for re-finishing.

Here's a quick photoshop wheel change.
(the pic posted of the Fikse wheel was taken off center and a bit distorted, so that has carried through to the rendering of the gold wheels... but you'll get the idea)
