Beautiful car and great story! I have now owner my 993 for a bit over a year and I am truly smitten. It's not my daily driver, but I look forward to every moment in the car. It just has so much character, history, engineering...
I hope you end up with the 944 back in your ownership as well! My "project car" before the 993 was a '90 944 S2. Also a wonderful car, and tons of fun to drive.
Enjoy your ride!

As much as the 70's 911 crowd was aghast at the 924 H20 introduction, the 924/944/968 has indeed been a gateway drug for many of us. Enjoy the stewardship and driving, and be glad that 5 others before you decide to take care of her and then pass her on, otherwise her journey would never have included you

Very nice. My black 85 has countless battle scars on the front that weren't there 35k miles ago (when I bought her). I would concur that black shows up the most flaws of any colour. If your car is relativly unblemished and you want to actually drive her, you should consider a bra. I recently bought my 993 one but it is a black, Colgan one not a clear. Reason was the paint is quite imperfect already so I wanted to reduce ongoing damage but not spend a big dollar sealing up an imperfect paint job. Cheers

Nice. I was chasing the dragon too after I sold the black 944 years ago. I knew selling it would leave a big vacuum which was ultimately filled with the 993 C2S. Welcome!

Lovely car and great story. Very nice DD as well. I had a monza silver tt-rs for a few years. I miss that I-5t wail but didn't really need awd in Texas. I traded it for a bmw 1m and added my first pcar, '95 c2, a few months back.

Welcome! Thanks for sharing you're story and congrats on the beautiful 993.
Nothing wrong with some serious FU horsepower from time to time but there is just something about a slow porsche isn't there.
Great looking mods so far. Love black 993s myself but I'm absolutely bias. Check out FD motorsports short shift kit and goldenrod to vastly improve shifter feel and tightness just my 2 cents .
Same here. I drove a 87 turbo and feel in love.
Jeremy, sounds like a plan. Lets do Katie's C&C sometime in Febuary or March if weather permits of course.
Calling AOW and his dung beetle and P-dizzle and one of his girls, either will do.

I'm at Katie's almost every weekend in one vehicle or another. I'll look forward to meeting you guys.
My plan is to trace down the prior owners and see if I can locate the original airbox and maybe even the original wheels. I know the car was in Charlotte for a decade and I have the owner's name, so that's a good start.

Congrats and welcome. Watch out for the slippery slope mod list around here or you may end up with a tattooed ballerina!
