The pcar mount is nice but absurdly expensive. The Rennline seems to give 100% of the same functionality at less than half the cost.

I just prop my phone up on the steering column right in front of the tachometer. Don't really talk on the phone while driving but if I'm parked or I am expecting a call I can't miss the phone waking up and I just pull over to the side of the road and answer it.
No biggie.

I recall seeing go pro like suction cup mounts that adhere to windshield. Am I imagining this? Seems to be a simple solution. @pp: I use the "propping" approach too, but the way I drive seems to make it fall over every few minutes.

In my experience it is only the rear/side defrost switch/**** that is truly obstructed by the mount, but then I'm sure experience varies with driver height. I don't really mess with my stereo at all other than the volume dial because my phone is streaming the music for me. As for HVAC I have no issue seeing and accessing those controls.

Well, I was about to order it until I saw the $14 shipping fee. WTF. Wouldn't be so bad if I needed to order something else from them. Think I'll have to pass for that reason alone.

Thank you for the info.

It just so happens I won a Porsche Classic Radio (and installation) in a raffle at the local dealer this weekend, so I went ahead and took advantage of the Rennline deal last night and bought the phone mount. Hello streaming music...

I don't often get this lucky!

I bought one for the Macan and the 993. I only had time to install it in the Macan and to me it's priceless...best accessorily I bought.

I'll take pics when I put it in the 993.

When I first got GPS way back when people said "I have a good sense of direction I don't need one"

You don't get it until you have one these. Quality built and very well thought out. Once you have one you wont drive without it. If you use Waze like I do just to mark cops you use your phone a lot when you drive.

I wish they made them for other models.

Does anyone have a Rennline phone mount that they don't want? I'll buy it.

I prefer my nav to be at eye level. So I bought a TechMatte mount for around $8 from Amazon. lt attaches to the dash by suction, and the phone mounts by a magnet, which works through the case. Problem solved.

I kinda like this one I had custom made for a 993 on a 3-D printer. The mount slides into the ashtray, and the holder is made to fit the dimensions of my Mophie external battery case on my iPhone 5.

Cost me under $60 and it works perfectly.

Heres some other 3D printed options for different mounting locations:

^^^^^ Yup, that's the guy. John Rygg makes a nice piece of kit, and he's a really terrific guy to boot. Highly recommended.

Just installed the newly-revised Rennline phone mount. Took all of ten minutes. Works wonderfully with zero issues. It's in the best position possible and is far better than having to pick up the phone from the center console tray to look at the map.

I just love it.
