New 993 on the way!
Thanks to all of you who have responded to my occassional posts over the past year as I searched for my first Porsche. Closed the deal today and am eagerly awaiting delivery of my new (to me anyway) 993:
1996 C2
speed yellow/black
six speed, full leather, hifi, power seats and some interior tequipment trim
18" sport design wheels
tequipment sport exhaust
30K one owner miles with all books, records and original window sticker
I considered a number of other cars, including 986 and 996 and spent a lot of time reading message boards to learn about the cars. I can honestly say the the 993 board is the most helpful, well informed group I encountered.
Thanks to everyone for your patience and insight. My next post will be as a member.

Steve, congratulations! I just picked up my new-to-me 1996 993 last weekend, so I have some idea of how excited you must be. I'm glad you chose the speed yellow one--I surmised from your earlier post that you were more drawn to it than to the blue one, and I think the speed yellow is stunning. Enjoy it!

I never liked yellow cars. Until I went to the Porsche dealer in Westmont, IL, in July '96. Speed yellow, S model, black sport seats, yellow backs, 6sp. Great options. I fell in love with the car. I was so overwhelmed, I almost started singing 'they call me mellow yellow' but everyone around was too young-they'da thunk I lost my mind. also didn't sing because I sing like cra*.
A new car color that I liked. That was a big deal for me. I kind of had my mind made up on colors. I didn't think anyone was gonna come up with any new colors. Like that was going to happen.
The Porsche Speed Yellow with black is an awesome combo. Please post pics when you can and sincere congratulations!

Congrats and welcome. Sounds like a real beauty and well taken care of. Love the one owner and paper trail, too. That history and documentation is nice to have. Speed Yellow is my (second) favorite color....
