Default ugh trashed my obc tach

i was adding raid 340 wheel and CF gauge backing and pulled apart tach during my sloppy removal/ install.. all works except obc constantly flickers now in all settings. can anyone pinpoint repair before i try to pull it back out again?
(handy tip it's pretty easy to pull upper dash out
to get more wiggle room, only 9 screws and a bolt between clock and center ac vent, i learned this too late)
thanks in adv

It makes very little sense, however give the tach a good bump or too while still installed. I don't know how it works but many complained (myself too) where the backing light goes dim, after a few bumps on the tach it somehow returns back to normal function.

If that doesn't work I think your gonna have to pull it out, just to re-check the connection as a start.

Pull it out, clean the pins n sockets, reconect and check OBC function prior to reinstallation.

If still no worky; send gauge off to one of the well known gauge repair shops.

...And thats all I have to say about that.

I always use dielectric grease on all electronic contacts. Bulbs, plugs, contacts etc. Helps keep contact clean and corrosion free. If you pull it out, use it for re-install.

Flickering OBC backlight is almost always caused by a failing transistor inside the instrument. It could be the backlight bulb that has bad connection too. See here for details.
