Default Aluminiunuinuminuminum pedals

I fancy putting some al trim pieces in my car.
I want to start with the pedals and dead pedal.
A buddy has a complete aluminumimunum
shop in his garage and he said it would be no
problem to make them for me. Upon inspection
my pedals are one piece? The pedal and shaft?
When you get them from a normal place, and no
my friend is not normal, do you get the whole pedal/shaft
assy or just the pedal and .....I cant inspect very good??

You get covers which are bolted on to your exitsing pedals.

Unless you get the AJ-USA set in which the gas pedal is hinged & screws to the floor board completely replacing the oem rubber pedal. That's why I prefer that set. AFAIK, all the aluminum brake & clutch pedals replace the oem rubber pads & are screwed/bolted down.

I really don't like the Tech Art pedals I have, except for the looks. They don't have much grip compared to the std rubber pedals. I would think twice about changing them out.

Greg, funny that you should post this. I was just about to ask about level of grip of aluminium v. rubber.

Keith, is this the pedal set you have? How does level of grip compare to stock rubber?

I also have the AJ-USA set like Dan, and recently added what they call the Fas-trac extension to the gas pedal. This gives about an extra inch on the left of the gas pedal, and by bolting on top of the pedal, it also gives a bit more height, making heel-toe shifts a no brainer. No issues with grip when wet.

Graham: That's what I have including the dead pedal. The grip is great much better than the rubber ones. AND I don't even track or do driving events. Not yet at least.

It's really amazing how opinions differ. I had the A.J. USA rubber set on my 993 because I was concerned about lack of grip with metal. I always desired however the tech art pedals, but was worried about my foot sliding off the them.
I got the Tech Art's for my turbo and not only do I love the way they look, I find no real difference in grip from the A.J. USA pedals. The cost was relativly cheap ($249) with the dead pedal. Installation was a snap. Mike W

I have SPARCO pedals. It you have wet feet, they will slip like anything else. Karen manages to drive with them in heels, so I guess they are pretty user freindly.

I have the Rennline brake, clutch and dead pedals, too, and find the grip to be no worse than with the stock rubber pedals and even fine when wet. The raised holes do a good job of biting quite nicely. Throttle pedal is the Wings Engineering adjustable one.

On the street, I have worn smooth soled dress shoes on the street without any foot slippage issues.

OldGuy - I have the rennline pedals in my 930. They are quite nice. The only complaint I had was the dead pedal did not seem to mount correctly. Rennline recently upgraded the dead pedal and sent me a new one for free - so kudos to them.

In my 993TT I have aluminum pedals on unknown manufacture. They look good combined with the aluminum e-brake, shifter, and gauge faces in my car.

For some reason the photo upload function is not working, so I can only post one pic at a time:

Here is the rennline dead pedal:

Some of the aluminum pedals can be fitted with raised rubber plugs that install in the holes which provide better grip especially when your shoes are wet.
