Somehow I suspect the sale of a GT2 unicorn won't have any relevance on run-of-the-mill 993 prices, but hey, a man can dream

Yes agreed a Unicorn but what is interesting that the RM EST was blown out of the water by double the price!! Very interesting and something to sleep on!

That particular car might be the ultimate street legal Porsche of the 90s. Best of the Best. It will have no impact on standard 993 values.

Buy real estate if you want to make investments. Drive your Porsche

Wow amazing what prices can be obtained at an auction if the right buyers are in the room.

Maybe it will end up looking like the run up in 60's cars auction prices where I suspect a small group of investors swap cars among themselves at less than arms length pricing to cause a run up in the value of their car inventory allowing them to borrow and fund other growing business ventures.

I think you are on the right track. Could also be group of investors/speculators that keep bidding up the prices at actions so that they can move other less expensive inventory at higher prices.

At some point the music will stop.

As long as the monetary system is manipulated by the governments all over the world I think the music will continue. Once it stopes or people don't believe it can continue much longer it will open up to new opportunities.

+1. At least 2 people measuring their weenies with wallets yesterday. Nothing more. One outlier does not make the market.

It can when the market size is as small as it is for 993 GT2's.

This is great about this unicorn. Does anyone remember for how much the white one was sold?

http://www.motor1.com/news/65125/ult...p-for-auction/

It is not a street version but it shows the climb of the price for the 933 platform.

It kills me to read some of these comments! The 60's muscle car comment is bang on. Anyone who lived through that rise and fall knows exactly what will happen to the Air Cooled cars in due time.
