Default I can't get maximum acceleration sometimes..

It's hard to explain this but I'll try the best I can..

First thing is the acceleration..
When taking out the car for a spin and after letting the oil heat up I put the hammer down and expect the maxumun acceleration at after 5000rpm, then taking it to 6500rpm.. This is not what happends. What happends is the car doesn't accelerate anything more then it does at 2000rpm. I have to do this from 2'nd gear about 3-4 times before the engine works at maximum preformance and does that extra push at 5000rpm. Feels like I have to tease him up so he gets real mad and starts bolting away..

The other thing is..
While the engine refuses to put thoose extra horsepowers out there's a strange rattling noice in the car that sounds like it comes from the engine and it starts at say 5000rpms. It doesn't sound much but it's almost like a sound when draging two chains at each other..

Do you think these things are connected?
Do you know what's wrong?

May-be one ignition coil is not working properly. I had about the same problem, egine felt "soft" sometimes under acceleration. This coil problem was annoying on/off problem, like You have.

How do I fix it?
Is it a easy DIY?

Suppose that you had this, and dismissed the noise for a while... would this cause the engine to wear at an accelerated rate?

I didn't understand the last part JPL 993-C4S..?

That noice could come from anywhere.
Infact, I think it's just something vibrating somewhere..

Thomas,it sounds like their is a problem with either the ignition system or the switch over system for the varioram.I would first check that both sets of plugs are firing, this can be done by disconnecting the ignition module one at a time with the car off and then seeing if it will run/idle on one and then the other. If it does, you can check the varioram by turning the key to the on position.I believe you should hear the valve switch and the dashpots activate. If the car has had a recent wiring harness, this could also be caused by the tech not connecting all the connectors or thie incorrect location,I have seen both. This is just a start, good luck,Jerry

Do I want to let my dealer do this for me or is it silly to pay money for an operation of that kind.

I would need to have some part words translated in to Swedish by someone though
