I picked one of these up for my son. It's lowered about an inch, and handles amazingly. I'm pondering this for a track car. Does anybody have any experience with them?

There's one for sale here for only 19K with tons of track mods. I remembered and found it for you.

these things are all over the tracks here. I contemplated picking one up new and using it only as a track car. They do great, especially with a few suspension mods. Great car, great bargain.

a handful racing here
bone stock they start in nasa D 2940 min weight plus points, so you can't compete in E with miatas.
there are two in nasa 3(10 to 1 with average hp used), they have super chargers installed. this is the same class as a 993 track car.
another has a super charger plus e85 kit dropping into nasa 2(8 to 1).
the cool thing, besides being cheap and good looking, is tons of aero mods available off the shelf.
splitter, flat bottom, side skirts, diffuser, all available from japan.
the car listed for sale would be fun for de but would have too many points to stay in D. if enough points for B then you are with the honda s2000 and have no chance to compete. at that point you need the super charger and are out of the alphabet class.

Have a uncle with a BRZ. He doesnt track but has had a handful of smaller cars, like a mini cooper works edition and a miata, and he is very impressed with the BRZ for the money. He said he test drove a BRZ vs. FRS and thought the BRZ suspension won hands down. So theres another anecdotal data point. I thought about a FRS before I bought the 993, mostly because of the price point but never test drove one. If you have disposable income and like the car after a test drive, it should be a solid runner while you figure out how to trick it out for the track.
