Pinch me!
So my wife and I took a weekend trip to Fairmont, BC from Calgary in the 993. I drive my porsche almost daily throughout the week back and forth to work and have owned it for almost 5 years. I guess sometimes I just forget how lucky I am to own this car. Financially we do fine but we are by no means rich and that's what makes me feel so happy and proud to own this car. I assume most of you were like me, growing up always loving 911's. I'm 43 years old and I was hooked on 911's when I first remember seeing them in the late 70's. Anyways, this thread has no point other than sometimes I can't believe this car is in my garage!

I get that. There's nothing like opening the garage door & seeing it in there!

I share the same feelings. I always said i would own a 911 at the age of 30, well it took me 40 years, but I made it. As a kid growing up in Germany, that was the car all kids admired, and I knew that when the 993 came out, that would be the one for me. I was fortunate enough to fulfill my dream this year. I consider myself very lucky and can't get enough of it. I have the biggest smile in the world every time I take it for a drive, which is almost daily.

I know JUST what you are saying!
It took me 50 years to get my first 911, and I hope I can hold onto it for a long, long time.
We are very lucky indeed!

Every now and then I get the same feeling, this past Saturday night was a reminder Wifey and I worked our butts off to have our "toys" and we enjoy every minute of it. Took delivery of the 993 two weeks before the arrival of my daughter at 38 yrs old.

I know exactly how you feel. I had not driven mine in several weeks. When I got in her this morning I smelled that unique 911 smell. I just sat in her and breathed it in, enjoying my car. Then I fired up her motor. I just sat there for a minute knowing I am one lucky person!

I'm a little ahead of most of you guys. I'm 72 and have owned 10 Porsches in the last 40 years starting out with a 1966 911. In addition to the 5 911's I've owned a 944, 2 968's, a Boxster, and a 914/6.
I got tired of all cars in 1-2 years.....but, have never gotten tired of my 993 which I have now owned for 5 years. I tell my wife that I'll be buried in that car (LOL).
To me, the 993 is the perfect car to own and drive! Mine now has over 110k miles on it and a recent total rebuild of the engine; so, she is good for another 20 years!

Same here, friend!
I bought mine in 2001, had tracked and DDriven it since, and now still my DD at around 160k miles today. Month ago got new tires and an alignment and the wife and I spent just shy of 1000 miles on our 20-yr anniversary in it. More than a gorgeous car, it has been dead-nuts reliable: I cannot begin to say how little I have spent on maintenance since '01 (other than the clutch and Bilsteins). Yeah, I am a blessed guy, to say the least, to be able to own such a classic sports car!
All of you RL brethren, enjoy your rolling art in the best of health!

My 993 is #118 in a long string of a variety of cars. Some pretty cool, some not so much. Back in about 2001-2002 I had a 77 911S. Low mile, sunroof non AC car. I lusted after a 911 since I was 16 or so. It was a blast to drive, but didn't fit the kids so well. Now it just the 2 of us. I sold my last Pro-Tour car and decided to try another 911. Wife said it had to be a cab if she was going to get behind the idea. I am assembling a short list of mods and upgrades that should keep me busy for some time to come.
