Default MPL Tuning Slave Cylinder

just installed a mpl slave cylinder and love it! effort is noticeably lighter and yes, the travel is a little longer. pedal comes all the way back to the stop and no issues shifting, completely disengages a bit further down.

thought others would be interested.

From what I've read, very high quality aftermarket German clutch slave; a bit pricy @ $300 shipped, but it is supposed to reduce clutch force by 30%, and it is one fine looking unit!

I have one of these fitted and had to cross London (to Hackney) and back yesterday, traffic as ever in London was grim I was grateful that I had one fitted.
Highly recommended.

Did you install it DIY-style? I'd love to have something like this installed, especially if I could do it myself. The RS clutch/FW is getting heavy.

Search around, there are write ups on the install of the MPL slave. It's relatively, you just have to transfer some the inners of the OEM slave to the MPL.

And yes, with the RS clutch/LW flywheel, you do need the MPL!!!

I did install it. Scissor lift helps along with disconnecting half-shaft for easier access.

Nice work George.

Axl, thanks for the response. I will do a search. I figured something like this would have come into my radar earlier as I frequent the boards enough. And also made a thread basically asking if a product like this existed. I'm pretty happy this thing exists. I'd probably buy one at twice the price. Dont tell MPL!

Just ordered one of these off Ebay. The "Make An Offer" thing from MPL is a little strange. I wonder how low of an offer they would accept? I got mine for $200 FYI.

So is eBay the only place to buy an MPL clutch slave cylinder? I can't seem to find an online retailer for them.

funny that you found it on ebay because mpl just yesterday said they were not using ebay any longer and only selling directly.

this is what he wrote me;

"Thank you...if there anyone want the slave cylinder must contact directly because we don t sell it anymeore one ebay."

From what I've read, its either the MPL store on Ebay, or allegedly you can get one from MPL, but not sure on the pricing, and their English seems like it might be a problem. Some over places in the UK, but Ebay is probably the best bet for getting one stateside.

It took a bit of searching because the part was listed under the german word, which is awesome BTW.

"Kupplungsnehmerzylinder"

But I had to find the MPL Ebay store link and go from there to find the cylinder.

Looks like I grabbed the last one available on Ebay, at least for now.

Default MPL

Had an MPL on for a few years, well worth it, in fact I have 3. A spare for the 993 and one on my Ducati. Brilliant write up here:- https://edelweiss.smugmug.com/Cars/P...ster/i-wd7gTZT
They seem to come up singly on ebay for some strange reason. No need to drop a half shaft you can lower the engine a couple of inches, but small hands, double jointed wrists and the ability to see round corners is a help.
