Who, us? Drive quickly? Why no officer, it must have been that mean Viper. Yeah, that's the ticket. Did I say ticket?

Hey, is that a radiator down there?

So THAT'S what that tray thing is for!

The technical term is "Boo-tay"

Thanks for the Pics Pete...excellent!
Terry- Thanks again for the Krispy Kremes!
Sharkster- Great having you aboard as well as your friends (M3 and Viper- sorry, I have better luck remembering Cars rather than names)
Avery- Welcome...for those that do not know, Avery purchase the Famous car that Daniel Schmidt claimed was 'oxidized'...NO WAY, the car is beautiful.
Tom- I am glad that your shoulder is better.
Jeff Chan/Pin/CarreraGT/ViperBob/flt6/Nelson/ ahhh, to many names to list...SEE YOU NEXT TIME!!!
We all have a lot of fun at these drives. I will organize one every month. Next time, I will give everyone more that a 3 day notice
Next Drive:
Looks like the next drive will take place maybe Aug 3rd...we need to make sure that this does not conflict with any local DE events. Stay tuned...
Meeting Place:
I pick 92/35 as the meeting place because it is surrounded by deserted twisty roads...if anyone wants to pick another meeting place as well as come up with a route, fantastic. Tough to beat the Coastal Range!!!

I guess not everyone is as careful (read ****) as me. Referring to the pic with the Arena Red 993 having 2 hardedged, possibly paint scratching boxes of Krispy Kremes on their rear spoiler! Ouch! I would have put a soft, terry towel underneath those rough, cardboard boxes. Cringe city. I guess this means I'm going to die when I'm 55... of stress ?
Fun pics! Thanks.
Out to drive my car... oh, how sweet life is in a 993.

Any chance of having something other than an 0 dark thirty meeting time? I just couldn't drag my butt out of bed that early to get down there from SF...would love to join up on one of these though...

So for those of us that did not make it, what is the deal with the Viper? Was that part of the group this time, and, more importantly, did the driver really get a ticket?

Steve, "possibly paint scratching boxes of Krispy Kremes on their rear spoiler"... This is the bun warmer option. I was going to offer a donut to the officers for a photo op, but someone suggested I save it till we get pulled over.

No tickets were issued in conjunction with that photo.
The viper joined us for the drive (there was an M3 too). The cops stopped in at the starting point at 35&92 waiting for about 1500 bicyclists to come riding through. They warned us about all the bikes so we actually departed almost "on time" at 8ish. I chuckled as the M3 and a Porsche made a u-turn just behind me in the fog along skyline to join us (a little) late. I guess they figured out they were late when the first 6-7 cars went by going the other direction. I didn't get the story at Big Basin as I departed the ride early (and was worried the M3 would follow me instead of the main group - he didn't).
It was nice to see the usual crew with some new additions joining us. I also think we need an outing in July.
Terry: I have a patent on the donut warmer for the 993, so at all occasions where you use the warmer you need to pay me a licensing fee (in donuts). Don't believe any lawyer (like Bill) who might tell you otherwise.

Bill - No the CHP did not ticket anyone. The Viper was owned by a friend of someone who has a 993 TT (forgot their names sorry). The cops were there to look after 1500 bicyclists who were coming by 92 and 35 that morning. The Viper did join the drive and it is pretty awesome.

Bill,
The Viper joined us for the drive. No one got a ticket, the cops were actually very nice and warned us that 1500 bicycles were going to come by soon so unless we wanted to get stuck behind them we should start our drive quickly. We obliged.
Despite the fog, I would say the drive was still fairly spirited.
