Default 95 993 w/ GT3 Tek RS kit

I have started my transformation with the GT3 Tek RS kit. I got a deck lid from LA Dismantlers in case I don't like the wing. I will be able to swap back to the original. The third brake light holes will be patched with metal. The quality of the kit seems to be pretty good. I have not fitted the plastic splittlers or side skirts but handling them and finish out of the box is acceptable. The rear wing has been mounted to the deck lid and will require some work. I am not sure if they have mold degradation but it has some inconsistencies. The grill does not fit at all. The grill is arced while the wing is flat. Also the opening is a little larger which will require stretching the grill.

Subscribed (I'm planning on doing this mod soon, too).

What kind of wheels are those?

Car looks great... With that dish on the rear wheels and the RS bits she will look mean!

Those are some serious aircraft you have there.

How old is the grille? YMMV and all but the grille on my turbo is slightly warped from time and I'm sure not only engine heat but heat from the sun. If it's old, your grille might have shrunk. Im sure the spoiler was molded around a new grille.

If that were the case it wouldn't drop right back into the factory wing which it does.

I think it's been posted that these parts do require a bit of work to make them fit and look good.

I got the splitters a while back and as Ed says they are going to need some custom fitting to work. But they finished up good with paint and will look great once on the car.

BTW better get that pig to the vet, it's not looking quite right. I recommend a guy called Dr. Suess, if you can get hold of some green eggs he can get the pig well sorted for you.

Smile GT3-TEK

I have know these guys for a long time..have bought lots of stuff from them over the year. Recently I recommend that a pal purchase the kit. Upon arrival, the paint guy said hr thinks the tail will require about 7 hours prep before paint. That's just unacceptable.

If I ever buy the complete 993 RS kit again...I won't, but next time I'll go factory with Gert @ carnewal.com

Well the parts are painted and on. My thoughts on the kit are they need some work. Not sure I would do the GT3tek kit again. The material is decent but their molds need some work.

Nice work. Your car looks great! I used GT3 Tek as well when I had my 993. I know the shop really had to fight to get the front pieces on the car. But they looked great once installed.

Thumbs down I have been down...

this trail. Would I do it over again? No. I'd do this:

1. Factory front splitters and side skirts from Carnewal.com The GT3-TEK front splitters went on OK, but the side skirts still don't fit completely flush. I have had the factory side skirts so I know how they should fit.

2. 993 RS tail from Getty Design, or if I were flush with cash, get the factory tail from Carnewal.com

Recently, I recommended GT3-TEK to a pal..the tail was not in good shape, needed at least 7 hours of fit and finish work before painting. I told him to return the kit, but he decided to spend the extra money on fit and finish.

Chris, Car looks great! I can't decide to go RS, C2 Aero kit, turbo front bumper or stay stock on my NB.
A hard decision, but fun at the same time
