I would highly recommend Josh Bare in Petaluma. He's a trained P-car mechanic from the South Bay who worked at Ferrari in Marin before striking out on his own. Quality of work is great as is pricing.

Stumbled on this thread, but another shout out for RMG. They are a bit far for me for regular maintenance, but did a compete rebuild of my 993 Turbo, as well the suspensions and a lot of other work as well and @ ~170K, runs and handles better than new.

I have always heard positive remarks about RMG though gather Dan (previous owner) has retired. If they were closer would have likely used them. With that, I have had satisfactory servicing on both my 88 911G and 993 C4S from Eric and Gabe at Pacific Power Motorsports in Walnut Creek.

I’ve used RMG for years. I always walk out of there learning something new from Dan & Dan.

Shout out to Reitmeirs Werkstatt in Los Altos for general maintenance. For heavy duty stuff (re gearing, pulling engine out), definitely check out Jerry Woods Enterprise in Campbell. RMG is also awesome.

There’s a list of Bay Area Service Shops (and some adjacent regions) at the following:

If anyone knows of a shop they’d recommend, but is not already included on that list, please shout out…
Thanks!
Karl.
