Default Unconnected wire inside the steering wheel.

After removing the air bag, I had found this unconnected wire idling inside the steering wheel (on the right side of the picture). May I ask what is this wire for? The horn and the tip buttons are seems working fine.
Cheers.

In the picture it looks like the wire does not have a termination on it? Like its just a cut wire? Is that so?

Could it be that the connector shown is supposed to have three wires going into it instead of two?

For what is is worth, my manual transmission car does not have so many wires emanating from the clock spring

I have also never seen that configuration. It must be a tip thing relating to controls on the wheel.

Take a look at the third to last photo in this thread I posted and you can see what the wiring looks like on our manuals. You have a square cut out at the bottom of the bracket where there's a three prong connector (two now) that I have never seen before. https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...tallation.html

Thanks guys. Yes, mine is a Tip. It sure looks like from the connector but on the other side of the connector, there are only 2 wires too. Since everything is functioning fine, maybe I just tape it and forget it.

Cheers

I think that would be a better idea than connecting it blindly, without validation that it belongs to the connector...

If I was a guessing man, which Im not; Id guess it belongs in the connector as well.

If you're not pressed to slap things back together, maybe if you hang tight, someone with a tip can chime in.

Probably "outta sight, outta mind" now, but if you had concerns you could just check for voltage in a "key on" mode. Then you'd be sure to keep it from shorting on something.
