John, great looking car, enjoy! Don't know how you get those beautiful hips through the bay door (pic 11 of 20).
A fellow Rennlister posted a pic of a great mod for a Tiptronic - exchange the plastic shift gate for a 6 speed boot. I too have a tip with the factory wood shifter. I removed the black plastic and added the interior color match boot it really adds to the look of the interior - you still have the dash lights to tell you where you are if needed.
And drive that Tip in manual mode all the time, you will love it. Search the archives for an interesting thread where we discuss shifting techniques (matching revs on downshifts with a Tip - yes it can be done!).
Have a blast!

thanks mark, yes the color combo is what got me. looks better in person. had it out around sunset this weekend and it almost takes on a bit of a brown , coppery tint , reflecting the late day sky. real nice!
note to david in LA, sorry , i still owe you pics of the V1. its really just a leather-lined 'box' in the shape of the V1 unit, placed above rear view mirror, with two flaps that are attached to the trim using the sunvisor screws into the trim.
i'll try to post this week.

jago - No worries...take your time. I was just curious as to what it looks like as I've been thinking about making a similar box for some time...Tech-Law has also been looking into doing something similar and has been speaking to a fabricator
