Default OT - Steve McQueen, the man and Le Mans

I'm on a cross country flight and just watched this documentary in my nice & cosy seat up front. I have to say that I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did.

For anyone that loves the original film for its focus on racing rather than a hollywood script, I would highly recommend watching this recap. The individual accounts and recollections from those involved (drivers especially) provided a perspective of this great film that I was unaware of.

That's all...

Highly recommend Michael Keyser's book "A French Kiss with Death, Steve McQueen and the making of LeMans". Bentley Publishers. Incredible details, background, insights, great photos and interviews.

I have the DVD and also watch it in my car and boat what a time for racing when cars where cars (fully mechanical) and men were men. Safety however was lacking but that's what made it fun.

There is no such thing as a nice seat up front on a cross country flight......I'm so sick of flying.

Just got in from JFK after hopscotching our way back from the Carribean, 5 delays on the last leg alone and the ended up jump starting the cart that they used to jump start the jet, very confidence inspiring. I also hate flying and avoid it when possible.

Is the Steve Mcqueen documentary only available through Showtime?
