TIRE BLOW OUT - RUINED RIM
On the way home from the Atlanta this weekend I had a bowout that seperated the side wall from the tread of the tire resulting in the outer lip of the rim rolling on the pavement ( about 30 seconds from start to finish). I have called wheel enhancement and they are looking for a used/new rim for me. The rim is a rear Porsche Sport Classic II 18" x 10". Does anyone konw if I can get a outer rim from BBS and bolt my center into it to save money? Or does anyone have an extra Sport Classic II outer or whole rim to sell?

I believe the Sport Classic can be had in 1-piece and 2-piece configurations. A 2-piece wheel should be repairable but might cost more to repair than to replace with a used wheel in good shape.

The 18" sport classic II is the two piece while the 17" is the one piece. I called wheel enhancement and they said they can not get the outer "rim" portion that I must buy the whole rim. Anyone have other information? I am going to give FVD a call today.

Don't know if you've tried or anything, but thought I'd throw this in...
I had a rear tire vandalized a couple years ago. Went in to State Farm and - after they tried to say that I accendently must have driven over 10 nails in one and only one tire, including the sidewall - they did pay for it. While talking to them they said that they will not cover a tire on a blow out, BUT, if you blow a tire and that subsequently causes other damage to the car like a wheel, fender, etc., they will cover the other damage - AND the tire.
Maybe they were wrong in telling me that, but that was State Farm in Maryland - so it might be worth looking into.
