I am currently having my 993 targa roof rebuilt and rust issues sorted. I have been posting on 911UK see link http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=108502 Hit a stumbling block in that can't get a couple of parts here in the UK. The missing parts are 993 562 513 01 (left hand moulding strip) PET 811-01-25 and 993 562 514 01 (right hand moulding strip) PET 811-01-25. Apparently no stock in UK or Germany. Any suggestions for who I could try in the States?

First off, I commend you for such a thorough project. The complexity of the roof makes these cars rare and special (to a small number of us). It's also worrisome to see that much rust! As a fellow targa owner, has your car spent much of its time outside in the UK weather?
Assuming those are the plastic trim pieces that often break upon removal, you would think Porsche (Webasto) would have a large supply of them. Kind of scary to think they may have run out.
The PET I'm looking at lists the part numbers as 993 562 513 00 and 993 562 514 00 respectively. For what it's worth, Sunset Porsche in Oregon and Sonnen in CA show those parts as available (likely sourced from Germany) and not superseded with later revisions. Have you tried looking for the part numbers that end in 00? Perhaps they would work just as well?
I would definitely give Sunset Porsche in Oregon a call. They may be able to help.

Thanks for the reply. I have given the garage the names you suggested. As far as the history of the car is concerned, I have only had it for the last three years or so, but guess it must have been used all year round, here in the UK, come rain, hail or shine.
No joy as yet from any parts suppliers in the States,
but the garage doing the renovations has been advised by Porsche AG that they should have stock around week 9 and 10
. Keep your fingers crossed for mid March for me. I am booked on a trip to the Porsche Museum at the end of April, so am more than a little keen to have the car back in one piece.
