had a little free time in my hands... i think it would make a pretty good sticker (below the side corner lamp on the front side fender... kinda like the F-40 watermark)
Princeton: not banging on the current design (which is where i drew inspiration)... just contributing some creativity
comments and crticisms from the floor appreciated!
-I think the profile of the car should follow 993 (or maybe 1973 911 RS) profile better.
-HWFM font still is too "messed up", should be something you can read immediately.
-Carbon fiber area should be smaller.
-With the turtle (much better with it), rennlist text should be a tad lower (or smaller). And I'd prefer "just" rennlist text, not with the "button"
-Badge's edges should be smooth.
Lots of critic but don't take it offensively, it's kinda nice as it is but I think you can improve it.
How about if you try this on Porsche badge? Replace "PORSCHE" with "HWFM" and "Stuttgart" with "RACING" and of course, the Horse with turtle...
You could try with original & different colors (creen, black & white as in original HWFM logo.
Just some thoughts...
Or how about if you replace everything above the turtle with this (text could be WAITFORME instead of WAITFERME, but maybe southern boys don't like that):
You probably need to "squeeze" it little shorter and "RACING" text could be a tad higher.
Finn,
You could be on to something here with the crest idea. We could all replace our front crest with something like that. Slow & subtle is the turtle way
Nice, but the Porsche silhouette looks like mountain peaks. Maybe if you rounded out the roofline a bit. It also looks a bit cramped inside. Perhaps less CF border so the inner crest is a bit bigger.

JW,
That's what I was thinking, with the same look from the distance, you wouldn't even know.
But little closer, the different colors would be the first hint, and then actually it would be different badge with the changes I mentioned (or something like that). I think that would be pretty neat and classy.
Perhaps instead of the porsche outline you have now just use the upper outline of the turtle instead. That way you could remove the actual turtle picture yet still have a strong tie to the original team design without having to clutter the badge.
About the real carbon badge idea. I'll try to get some carbon scrap to work with on this idea although I don't know how practical hand painting each one would be haha.
all comments and criticisms taken into consideration...
how bout this? (dun want to have a copyright law suite on my hands though)
1) cleared up the HWFM text
2) decreased the carbon area
3) centralised the turtle
4) adjusted the turtle shell profile
5)changed the logo layout to follow the factory logo closer
i'll need some input for colors...
also the four quadrants around the turtle are deliberately left blank for design motifs(any suggestions?)
