Default Carbon Buildup: Photo

Here's a photo of a head. You can see the passage that can become built up with carbon deposits. It's quite small. As I understand it the passage was made small so the velocity of the air going thru it will be high in order to heat up the catalytic converter as quickly as possible. I don't know if that explanation is accurate or not and I'm not an engineer. It does however get me to thinking; if that is the case. Why didn't Porsche just make the passage twice as large and use twice as powerful of an air pump to get the velocity up to speed. Of course this may not be possible, I really don't know.

Has anyone tried Sokoff? It was specifically designed for dissolving/cleaning carbon deposits. When I use to work in a restaurant it was the only thing that worked for cleaning wok's.
