Did all brass plugs have threads? What are the marks every 90 degrees on the case after plug installed? Inspired, thanks for sharing the project.

the marks were put on the holes by the machinist to identify the holes that need capping. no threads on the caps

thanks for looking

I was under the impression that 95's did not have SAI...
Guess I was wrong.
Did all 993 have SAI, but not 964's?

Thanks,
Dave

I thought we do but when clogged on a '95 it doesn't trigger a code??

I believe this is the SAI from my 993 that I'm getting back all rebuilt and clean on Wed.

Yes all 95s have SAI Stevie W said mine where one of the worst clogged he's seen
i'll bet oil over fill is a good reason why this happens

well i really haven't been sitting around, things just take time, and maybe more time when you have a large wawd to chew

I decided to have Steve Weiner do a final check to my crank and remove the galley plugs and clean those hinder holes
it came back within spic & span and all within spec...so i was very happy

today I got the rods bolted on to 40LBs and crossed checked with a digital torque
Taking my time and keeping it very clean

the body has been at the body shop for a stripping and repainting
the body will be etch primed, painted and clear coated

The car had a fender bender to the rear passage side and looked ok from the outside but had a lot of body filler and was still dented on the inside by the oil tank
in order to get the car right for me i ordered a new rear fender from Design911 along with all the door rails where the glass elevates
Design911 very good company to deal with and all was at my doorstep in 4 days from the UK
the car is getting primed and resanded now and will be ready for paint in a few days
happy to say NO rust anywhere
I'll be ordering a new windshield and I think have it filmed for protection right away

I also ordered a turbo front bumper from Gert at Carnewal, another great company to deal with and received it within a week from Belgium
BTW i have no affiliations

here are a few pics

I'm way behind where I want to be. need to start working on it more regularly if I'm going to drive it down to Luftgekuhlt in May.

WOW, you're really not messing around. Would love to drop by and have a look at your work some time, I'm more or less just down the street!
