Time to start a partial or full rebuild
I new when i bought the car that this would be surfacing sometime :) so time to get right down into it!

After consulting again with Steve Weiner I did a Leak-down test and found that the leaks were out the top of the motor either head gaskets or valves…it sound like head gaskets to me

All cylinders were causing the same air leak escape, and not holding the air, they all started around 9% and then starting hissing

I’ll be sending the heads to Steve (same as the 964) for rebuild

AND a few other goodies, like the clutch is going (haven’t decide what kind yet) Oil cooler flush, Shocks (on the fence to what kind) AND a new paint job (original black)

My 964 as a lot of you know is up for sale but hasn’t sold, i’ll be getting my driving jollies from it this spring

i found at this air T that there's a hose not connected, haven't found whats supposed to be there yet

No rust, I'm happy about that!

Glenn, I found today (well I took off the engine for a major overhaul of the car) that T blocked in one port with a bolt because my tech was clueless what was connected there before when he installed back the engine into the car.

I'm not sure what vacuum line goes there, but I have some A/C /heater problems and found that a servo motor in the HVAC that is plugged a vacuum line was disconected and goes into the engine bay. I suspect this is the port that takes the signal for the HVAC flapper actuator at the HVAC. Anyways I'm going to connect it and see what happens with my A/C-heater.

Got the motor out this weekend. some tight bolts and some not so tight (?)
i'm thinking this motor has never been out, but we'll see

think the majority of oil was from the steering wheel pump seal...but we'll see

i found getting the clutch valve harder to get at then the 964, more wheel suspension rods in the way

Yes these are some series jacks, i inherited them from an old friend i think them come from the railroad days they increase about another foot

Here are a few more pics of the engine out you can see the rusted breath valve or what ever its called :) i have to look it up, but its in bad shape

I also had a bugger of a time getting the clutch release fork shaft out. i sprayed it with Liquid Wrench and tried it again the next day, along with 2 visa grips, its out now

Here's the motor pan, lots of oil and ****e
so i cleaned it and got it off the floor, space is tight right now

off comes the trany the rear seal seems quit tied and not seeping oil
you can see the clutch plate is almost worn off on the front side this is probably why it was slipping
the fork parts seamed in ok condition, but i'll replace with a new kit anyway

Wow, you're really deep into it now. Great photos showing the steps. Out of curiosity how many miles are on this car/engine/clutch?

That valve is the SAI, remove it and plug it up with the SAI port plugs from Partick Motorsports...
