Is this too good to be true ? If this guy is on the up and up, isn't 10K worth it? WOW, I really want this now!

Interesting comment, that he will not use eBay checkout. Want's wire transfer or money order only. Definitely a scam!
This really ticks me off!
"Seller's payment instructions:
PLEASE DO NOT USE EBAY CHECKOUT! Payment accepted as a bank transfer to the account or money order. International shipping is possible but please email me first."

I just set a little trap for this scam. Here's the email that I sent.
"Hey I'm really interested. Where is the engine at? I'd like to come take a look at it. Been wanting one of these for a long time. I'll pay cash.
Sachin"

Hi,
These guys deserve to be strung up.
Why dont you ask him a question about the engine that only someone with a real engine infront of them could answer properly.
eg 'what is the number stamped on part X?'
The correct answer being there is no number there or that part does not exist on a turbo engine...

I agree this is a obvious scam....don't think he is going to be returning any email ques.
Private auctions make me very suspicious in general. I just bought a vintage McIntosh amp for an almost "too good to be true" price. Noted that is was a relisted item and the previous winner backed out. He responded to my email question stating that the seller was evasive in answering questions so risked the negative FB and by bailing. I thought the seller on the otherhand was very straightforward and cooperative. Anyway I requested, and he agreed to Escrow .com which cost only $25 and bought peace of mind. This is a good test of intent as no scammer would ever want to deal with a legitimate escrow company. Would do it for anything costing more than $500.

Guys,
Before I post on eBay, I want to give Rennlisters first refusal. I'm about to advertise a slightly used Boeing 747 engine. I collect airplane engines and this one is surplace to requirements. It will strap on to any 993 (including non varioram models) and incrase BHP to 5285 at full trust.
If you're looking for two, I may have another one lying around my garage, but will have to check. Bidding will start at $10.
