Stolen 993 SoCal
Hi Everyone,
I just got an email about a stolen 993 in Laguna Niguel, California last Thursday Dec 31st.
Email from the PCA Orange Coast Region.
I am contacting you with the hope that you would be able to get the word out to the club about my car which was stolen from my locked garage in Laguna Niguel early on the morning of 12/31. It is a red 1995 993 that I have owned since 2000. I am essentially heartbroken and just hoping that spreading the word will help in some way. Also so that folks are more aware that this kind of thing can happen; I can provide more info about how the thieves broke in if you like.
Below is a link to photos of my car. Note that it a distinguishing mod is that is lowered.

Sorry for the loss, I hope you get it back. I look forward to the story that ends with, "the intruders were shot in the *** with buck shot and the local police followed the trail of blood and tears to make the arrest".

If you haven't already and are in contact with the poster, please pass on the info about Hagerty's updated 993 valuation info:
https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuati...he-911-Carrera
Any information you can get from the poster to help understand what combination of circumstances were in effect. For example, was it an off-site rented garage, attached to his/her home, etc.? I have a feeling that if somebody is committed to getting in they will. But if off-site in a rented garage is "higher risk" than your own attached garage, then maybe that will help some in the future (ie: invest in a lift vs. rent an off-site less-secure garage).
Thanks for sharing with the forum.

What I want to know is where are these cars winding up?
Are they being chopped up for parts circa 1981 NYC style or are they being shipped overseas and being re-vinned and driven?

With all the thefts out there I sort of cringed when I saw this thread.

The cars are probably put in a container and shipped overseas.
