993TT wheel question
From Robin's site, the stock wheels are 8" width and 52 mm offset front, 10" width and 40 mm offset rear.
The Cargraphic data is 9" and 47 mm offset front, 11" and 62 mm offset rear.
Using a cool Wheel Offset Calculator, I get the following data:
Front wheels: Clearance from strut housing to inside of wheel is 8mm less, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 18mm.
Rear wheels: Clearance from strut housing to inside of the wheel is 35mm LESS, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 9mm. (The current 993 owner uses a 4 mm spacer rear)
The new wheels would be used with my current P-Zero C's (245/35-18 and 285/30-18), and eventually Hoosiers in 245/40-18 and 305/30-18.
To my eye, the new wheels look less-than-ideal for my car, but I am not sure that I am interpreting the data correctly. Am I better off getting custom made wheels by Fikse, Forgeline, or Kinesis for my specific car?

Anir,
That should be 52 mm, 40 mm, 47 mm and 62 mm.

Jeff, the factory Technology wheels will still be my street wheels. The new ones are for DEs. Sorry! (But I'll keep my eye out for some for you!).

I don't think those wheels will fit very well. This is the sort of thing that you want to get right. Aside from that, I didn't like running the 285 P-Zero C on an 11" wheel. The wheel is too wide for that tire, the tire behaves oddly, runs hot, and wears out sooner. The 245 and 305 Hoosiers fit fine (on 9" & 11"), as the Hoosier's actual dimensions are very wide compared to regular street tires.
I would order custom wheels from Kinesis or Fikse.
Thanks for the info. With your Kinesis 9.5" and 11" wheels, what tires do you run? From the picture, it looks like they have too much grooving to be Hoosiers.

Do you think 10.5" rear wheels could do double duty - i.e. 285/30-18 P-Zero C's now, and Hoosier 305/30-18 later?

These are the 3 piece Competition approved 18x9 and 18x11 custom made to fit widebodies. They have a polished outer rim and natural finish on the centers. They are in great shape, look at link for description and pics. Best offer.
